Gunshot Detection

How viGDS Works

By leveraging our functionally independent, stand-alone units, we can install our sensors in strategic locations within a specified target geographic boundary. Without the need for a mesh network or "grid" deployment, the NetLogix viGDS can be both portable and mobile.

Utilizing the state-of-the-art SENTRI backbone for acoustic detection, the NetLogix viGDS is able to instantly identify a gunshot event based on its unique acoustic profile. Every sound has one of these corresponding signatures, and each gunshot event is digitally categorized within 0.4 seconds after incidence. Unlike competitive solutions that listen to noise levels, the NetLogix viGDS can distinguish between gunshots, gun types, firecrackers, automobile backfires, and other explosions. With this feature also comes the ability to program additional, specified target sounds - e.g., broken glass, vocal disturbances, etc - providing even more flexibility.

The NetLogix viGDS integrates real-time, location-based incident mapping and automatic video surveillance camera shift and capture. When a gunshot is fired, it only takes one-half of a second before each camera begins to rotate toward the event. The camera then zooms in on the incident location, tracks briefly, and pans outward to capture the entire field of view. Real-time incident alerting with automated camera control allows the video operations center to quickly gain GPS and visual data, along with an audio record detailing the timing and sequence of gunfire.
